Dr. Masood Aslam, M.D.

Dr. Aslam is a Board certified psychiatrist with 17 years of experience in the field. This experience includes direct patient care, teaching medical students/ residents and managing behavioral health hospitals. As a student, his passion for science on one hand and poetry, philosophy and theology on the other came together in his choice of behavioral medicine as his specialty.

Within the field of behavioral medicine he has varied interests including addiction medicine, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, developmental disorders, psychiatric manifestations of brain trauma and dementia to name a few. In addition to treating adults he has special interest in treating children and adolescents.

Over the past twelve years he has held various physician leadership positions in several psychiatric hospitals. These include Medical Directorship at Mildred Mitchell Bateman hospital in West Virginia, Medical directorship at Taunton state Hospital in Massachusetts and Medical Directorship at North brook behavioral health hospital in NJ. In these roles he has been responsible for managing the hospitals and supervising clinicians including psychiatrists to insure highest quality of care is provided to the patients.

During most part of his career he has been associated with academic institutions satisfying his interest of continued learning for himself and teaching medical students and residents. His interests in biological, pharmacological as well as psychological aspects of treatments combined with a warm and empathic personality are described as the reasons for his effectiveness and high patient satisfaction.
